Drone survey in Exeter

Exeter is home base, so bookings here slot in around the working day rather than a special trip out to the county.

The home patch

Exeter is where the operation is based, which means a survey here is not a diary event that needs planning around. There is no drive to build into the quote, no early start to allow for the weather window at the far end of a route, and often a same-week slot simply because the kit and the operator are already in the city.

That closeness also means good local knowledge of how the city sits together. Marsh Barton, the Quayside, the university quarter and the newer growth out towards Cranbrook and Pinhoe are all different kinds of survey in practice, even before you get to the individual building, and being based here rather than passing through means that context is already understood before the booking is confirmed.

A city of several very different property ages

Central Exeter is largely Georgian and Victorian terraces, tightly packed and often with shared boundaries, where a clear aerial view of the whole roofline and rear elevation is hard to get any other way. Move out to the post-war semis on the ring around the centre and the survey is a simpler, more standard job. Move out further again to the purpose-built student blocks near the university, or the still-expanding new estates at Cranbrook and Pinhoe, and it changes shape again, sometimes covering a run of near-identical properties rather than one.

Because those different eras sit within a few miles of each other, a single day based in Exeter can realistically cover more than one job type without much travel between them, which keeps booking flexible for anyone trying to fit a survey around exchange dates or a busy household.

A postcode that covers more than the city centre

Exeter Cathedral and the medieval cathedral close sit inside a compact conservation area at the heart of the city, but the EX postcode range actually runs from EX1 out to EX6, taking in a lot more than the historic core: the retail centre, Marsh Barton's commercial and industrial buildings, and the residential edges out towards Alphington, Pinhoe and the villages beyond the ring road.

That spread matters at booking stage, since a commercial unit near the Quayside and a house on the western fringe of EX6 are both routine work but call for different scheduling, one fitting around business opening hours and site access, the other around a household's own diary.

Booking around the city

Buyers moving into any of Exeter's newer estates often want a pre-purchase survey turned around quickly against a chain, and being on the doorstep means that request can usually be met without the job having to wait its turn behind travel further afield.

For the older central quarters, terraces built hard up against their neighbours can mean checking flight lines around nearby buildings before the day itself, something that is easier to sort out properly when the surveyor already knows the street.
